OLDER RESISTOR COLOUR CODING
With older resistors you did not have a band system, but a "dot" system, the body of the resistor was coloured, the tip was coloured and then there was a spot of paint on the body of the resistor. The colour coding was exactly the same as for modern resistors. READ IN THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE..BODY,TIP,SPOT. If the body was red,the tip was orange and the spot was brown the resistor would be 230 ohms.
